I have over ten years of science teaching experience in higher education and four years in secondary education. Every student is different, and not everyone learns the same way. Which is why I like to customize learning for my students. I use hands-on inquiry and open-ended exploration in my teaching. In my classroom every lesson focuses on real-world issues and problems and includes engineering design processes. I believe true education is more than just academic knowledge. As Martin Luther King Jr. says it, "intelligence plus character--that is the goal of true education."
Besides teaching, I am passionate about biological research. I have over three years research experience in molecular/microbiology field where I have worked to understand the genetic expression of a soil bacterium Pseudomonas putida under various soil and culture conditions for my graduate work.
